Rising Discontent Against TMC in West Bengal, Tarakishore Prasad Holds Party Accountable

Katihaar, May 31: Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tarakishore Prasad responded to the political situation in West Bengal and the alleged attack on TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee during a recent interview. He stated that the current political climate is a direct result of the actions of the TMC government and its leaders. Discontent among the public towards the TMC has been growing, and its effects are now evident.

Prasad accused the TMC and its leaders of hastily blaming BJP workers for incidents without proper investigation. He noted that this trend is not new and has been a long-standing issue in Bengal’s politics. He claimed that the law and order situation in the state has deteriorated, raising concerns about crimes against women.

He emphasized that if any complaint or crime arises, a governance system is in place in West Bengal that will act according to the law. He also questioned TMC leadership, suggesting they should reflect on incidents that occurred during their tenure.

Shiv Sena spokesperson Raju Waghmare also commented on the situation. He pointed out that the local community’s reaction when Abhishek Banerjee visited a victim’s family illustrates the public’s anger in the political atmosphere. Waghmare stated that this is not an isolated incident but rather a long-simmering public discontent that is now surfacing.

He noted that during TMC’s rule, there has been a perception among the public that instead of delivering justice to victims, the accused are often shielded. He stressed the importance of understanding the emotions of the people, while also clarifying that they do not support any form of violence. However, the public’s anger cannot be overlooked.

Waghmare described the situation as a result of “action and reaction.” He explained that prolonged dissatisfaction in a society eventually manifests in some form. He reiterated that while political differences may exist, violence should never be condoned at any level.
