Patna, May 31: Bihar Minister Sanjay Singh has voiced his concerns regarding the recent attack on TMC MP Abhishek Banerjee in West Bengal, comments made by Rabri Devi about her official residence, the upcoming elections for ten seats in the Bihar Legislative Council, and the state’s preparations to combat extreme heat. He also launched a sharp critique of the opposition.

In a conversation about the unity of the India Alliance and opposition meetings, Singh stated that opposition parties often claim to unite for show, but there is no genuine solidarity among them. He noted that these parties come together only for electoral gains or political advantage, lacking strong coordination during normal times. According to him, the Grand Alliance appears active only when politically necessary, indicating a lack of permanent unity.

Regarding the elections for the ten seats in the Bihar Legislative Council, Singh mentioned that his party and its allies are in ongoing discussions. He stated that Chirag Paswan, the national president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), will make the final decision, emphasizing that his party seeks adequate participation in the process. However, he also clarified that the ultimate decision will rest with the party leadership.

Singh responded to Rabri Devi’s challenge to the government regarding her official residence, where she claimed that if the government has the courage, it should evict her. Singh remarked that everyone should adhere to the rules. He stated that if actions are taken within the legal framework, they should be accepted by all. He added that such statements unnecessarily escalate the political atmosphere and should be avoided.

On the rising heat and water scarcity issues in Bihar, Singh assured that the government is closely monitoring the situation. He mentioned that wherever water shortages arise, immediate arrangements are being made. He noted that hand pumps and other water sources are being monitored, and water is being supplied via tankers where shortages are felt. The government aims to ensure that citizens do not face a water crisis under any circumstances.

Commenting on the attack on Abhishek Banerjee, Singh stated that individuals must face the consequences of their actions. He explained that if someone has previously acted harshly or exerted pressure on the public, the people’s response will eventually reflect that. He acknowledged that while people may endure pressure for a long time, their discontent eventually surfaces when given the opportunity.

However, he clarified that any form of violence cannot be condoned, but understanding the political context is essential, as every incident has social and political underpinnings.
