New Delhi, March 15: Tensions in West Asia remain high as attacks from Iran and the U.S.-Israel alliance continue. In response, the United States has ordered non-emergency government employees working in Oman to leave the country.
The U.S. State Department has issued a directive for all non-emergency government personnel and their family members to evacuate Oman due to security threats.
Additionally, a refueling plane crash in Iraq on Thursday resulted in the deaths of several American soldiers. The U.S. Department of Defense has identified the six service members who lost their lives.
The deceased soldiers are Major John A. Kleiner (33), Captain Ariana G. Savino (31), Technical Sergeant Ashley B. Pruitt (34), Captain Seth R. Koval (38), Captain Curtis J. Angust (30), and Technical Sergeant Tyler H. Simmons (28). The Defense Department has stated that an investigation into the incident is ongoing.
This crash has raised the number of American soldiers killed in the conflict against Iran to at least 13, with seven others also reported dead in combat. According to the Pentagon, approximately 140 American soldiers have been injured, with eight suffering serious wounds.
Iran’s Khatam al-Anbia headquarters has accused the U.S. and Israel of using Iranian Shahed drones and copies of Lucas drones for attacks in the region. Iranian officials have also claimed that the U.S.-Israel alliance is blaming these attacks on the Iranian military.
In a statement from the IRIB broadcaster, the command stated, “Recent dangerous attacks on neighboring and friendly countries such as Turkey, Kuwait, and Iraq have been attributed to the Iranian military.”
The statement further claimed that this strategy aims to undermine the Iranian military’s “defensive, legal, and legitimate actions” and to create discord between Tehran and its neighbors.
In a separate development, the Kuwaiti National Guard reported that it shot down five drones in the past 24 hours. Earlier, Kuwaiti officials stated that a drone attacked Kuwait International Airport, damaging part of its radar system. They also reported that two missiles targeted the area around Ahmed Al-Jaber Airbase, injuring three soldiers.
