Mumbai, May 24: Actor Ram Charan, known for his work in Telugu cinema, has issued an apology to Indian fast bowler Jasprit Bumrah after mistakenly referring to him as a footballer.
On Sunday, Ram Charan shared a note on his X account, explaining that he sometimes struggles to remember names and that this was a “genuine human error.”
He wrote, “Oops… I really do have trouble remembering names sometimes. I apologize to Bumrah for this mix-up. Amid the excitement and crowd, it was a human mistake. I have great respect for you and am a huge fan of your game. You make every Indian proud by consistently putting pressure on batsmen.”
Earlier, during an event, when asked to comment on Indian cricketers, Ram Charan had said, “Sachin – a long and legendary journey. MSD – calm and cool. Rohit Sharma – everyone considers him their own. Virat Kohli – fire. Jasprit Bumrah – I am your biggest fan. I love football, and you have taken it further. Love you, sir.”
