Gagan Narang Optimistic About Memorable Commonwealth Games 2030 in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, May 24: Gagan Narang, India’s former shooter and Olympic bronze medalist, believes that preparations for hosting the Commonwealth Games 2030 are in full swing in the country and the host city of Ahmedabad. He asserts that with the current level of planning and preparations, the 2030 Commonwealth Games will be the most memorable yet.

Narang participated in the 75th edition of the Sunday Cycle event, held under the Fit India Movement. In an exclusive interview, he praised the initiative led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to promote fitness among the populace. He noted the excitement among the residents of Ahmedabad regarding the Commonwealth Games, highlighting the energy that could inspire athletes to bring home medals.

Discussing the preparations for the Commonwealth Games 2030, Narang stated, “There is excellent planning and preparation underway. The governments of India and Gujarat are collaborating to ensure high-quality arrangements, and I am hopeful that this will be the most memorable Commonwealth Games.” He emphasized that Ahmedabad is being readied in every aspect for the event, commending the development of sports infrastructure in the city.

Narang also praised the emphasis on sports science in athlete preparation. He mentioned that utilizing sports science significantly benefits athletes, allowing them to better understand their bodies and improve their performance. He noted that every federation is beginning to recognize the importance of this approach.

He expressed confidence that India would secure more medals when hosting the Commonwealth Games. He explained that there would be no restrictions on including events or sports, enabling athletes to participate in a broader range of competitions and perform better. Narang remarked that shooting has reached a level where it’s not just about one or two athletes bringing home medals; every competitor is working hard and striving to give their best.
