
Mumbai, April 29: On the occasion of Maharashtra Day, the Mumbai Police have released a special traffic advisory for drivers in the Dadar area. The Maharashtra Day Parade is set to take place at Shivaji Park on May 1, prompting traffic changes and restrictions on surrounding routes from 6 AM to 12 PM.
According to the traffic notification from the Mumbai Traffic Police, these measures aim to ensure the smooth conduct of the parade and to prevent any inconvenience, obstruction, or danger to the public.
Motorists are advised to avoid routes near Dadar and Shivaji Park during the specified hours and to use alternative routes instead. The advisory also recommends that drivers refrain from entering the area and utilize the designated parking at the Kohinoor BMC lot.
The police clarified that signboards and traffic personnel will be stationed at various locations to guide drivers and pedestrians, minimizing any inconvenience. Additionally, local residents and those without car passes are encouraged to park their vehicles at the BMC Kohinoor parking lot near Plaza Cinema on JK Sawant Road in Dadar.
The parade will commence from Gate Number 5 of Shivaji Park, turning left onto Keluskar Road (North), proceeding to C Ramchandra Chowk, then turning left again onto S Savarkar Road (South), reaching the Musician Vasant Desai Chowk (the southern junction of Keluskar Road), and finally turning right to conclude at Narli Bagh.
The Mumbai Police have appealed to citizens for cooperation, urging everyone to follow the issued guidelines to ensure a peaceful and organized celebration of Maharashtra Day.
