CBI Arrests DDA Vigilance Officer in Bribery Case

New Delhi, May 19: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested an assistant vigilance officer and an MTS employee from the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) in a bribery case.

The CBI registered a case on May 18, 2026, based on a complaint from a former deputy director of the DDA. The complaint alleges that the assistant vigilance officer demanded a bribe of ₹5 lakh to send a favorable response to the complainant’s original department regarding a vigilance matter. After negotiations, the officer accepted an improper benefit of ₹3 lakh.

On May 18, the CBI caught the assistant vigilance officer red-handed. He is accused of soliciting and accepting ₹50,000 as a partial payment of the total bribe amount of ₹3 lakh through the accused MTS employee. Both individuals have been arrested.

The CBI’s stringent actions against corrupt public servants highlight its firm commitment to combating corruption. Citizens are encouraged to report such cases, especially when government officials demand bribes. Complaints can be lodged at CBI offices or by calling mobile number 9650394847.
