Srinagar Police Seizes ₹1.5 Crore Assets from Notorious Drug Peddler

Srinagar, May 19: The Srinagar police have confiscated assets worth ₹1.5 crore from a notorious drug peddler as part of the ‘Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir Campaign.’

The seized property includes a house and seven marlas of land belonging to Owais Amin Denthu, a resident of Parimpora. The estimated value of this property is around ₹1.5 crore.

This action was taken under the provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, based on an FIR registered at the Parimpora police station.

Investigations revealed that the accused purchased this house and land using illegal earnings from drug trafficking. The police stated that this seizure is a significant step towards dismantling drug networks and reducing the threat of substance abuse in society.

The Srinagar police reiterated their strong commitment to creating a ‘Drug-Free Srinagar.’ They emphasized that their campaign against drug trafficking and sales will continue unabated.

The police have urged the public to report any information regarding drug sales, trafficking, or related networks in their areas. Public cooperation will enhance the effectiveness of this campaign.

This operation is part of a broader initiative aimed at eradicating the drug problem in Jammu and Kashmir. Police officials have stated that strict action will be taken against those who ruin society by leading youth into addiction.

The Srinagar police believe that asset seizures not only financially harm criminals but also serve as a warning to others. Such actions will continue under the ongoing campaign.
