Mumbai, May 19: Television and film actor Rajeev Khandelwal is currently in the spotlight for his show ‘Tum Ho Na.’ Recently, a contestant named Saroj shared a painful experience related to her husband’s heart attack, prompting Rajeev to recall one of the most challenging times in his life. He openly discussed the fear, anxiety, and helplessness he felt when his father suffered a heart attack.
Rajeev shared, “In 2005, my father had a heart attack. His condition was critical, and the doctors decided to perform bypass surgery immediately. When I arrived in Delhi to be with him, every moment felt incredibly heavy.”
He noted that there are times in life when one feels utterly powerless, left only to pray to God.
Recalling his experience, Rajeev said, “I still vividly remember the moment when the doctors took my father into the operating theater. He was unconscious, and I stood by the door, watching him. Thousands of questions raced through my mind. I was unsure of what to do. All I could think was, what would happen after that door closed? That fear still haunts me.”
He added, “That moment was one of the scariest in my life. When a loved one’s life is in danger, one feels incredibly helpless. It was a time when I began to fear losing my father. That day, I truly understood the fragility of life.”
Rajeev emphasized, “Waiting outside the hospital and anticipating news every minute is excruciating. Family members may appear strong from the outside, but inside, they are often shattered. Such experiences teach us the value of life and bring families closer together.”
