Delhi Police Bust Illegal Arms Supply Gang, Seize 14 Pistols and 20 Live Cartridges

New Delhi, May 19: The Special Staff of the Dwarka District Police has successfully dismantled a gang involved in the supply of illegal weapons. This operation has resulted in the recovery of a significant cache of firearms.

So far, police have seized 14 pistols and 20 live cartridges. This action was part of the ‘No Guns, No Gangs’ campaign aimed at cracking down on criminals and completely halting the flow of illegal weapons.

According to police, the initiative was led by Dwarka District DCP Kushal Pal Singh and Additional DCP-1 Niharika Bhatt, focusing on tightening the grip on offenders.

On September 13, 2025, based on confidential information and technical surveillance, the Special Staff arrested inter-state arms supplier Kunwar Pal, also known as Kapil (27). Eight country-made pistols and ten live cartridges were recovered from his possession. A case was registered under the Arms Act at the Baba Haridas Nagar police station.

During interrogation, the accused revealed the name of the main mastermind behind the arms supply network, Haramesh Singh, also known as Ramesh Singh or Mechu. Following this lead, police initiated a search for him, but he had been on the run. Non-bailable warrants were issued against him.

On May 18, police conducted a raid in the village of Jurheda in the Mewat region and arrested Haramesh Singh. Following his interrogation, police recovered a modern pistol, five country-made pistols, and ten live cartridges based on his directions. Authorities noted that Haramesh Singh has previously been involved in five criminal cases.

As of now, the operation has led to the recovery of one modern pistol, 13 country-made pistols, and 20 live cartridges.

Police stated that further investigations are ongoing, and efforts to dismantle the entire network are being continuously pursued.
