Over 60,000 Citizens Participate in Gujarats Self-Enumeration Campaign: Chief Secretary MK Das

Gandhinagar, May 19: MK Das, the Chief Secretary of Gujarat, has announced that over 60,000 citizens have engaged in the Indian government’s special ‘Self-Enumeration’ campaign. On Tuesday, he utilized the online portal to fill in family details, benefiting from this digital service.

During this event, Chief Secretary Das emphasized that the process is extremely simple and transparent. He urged all government officials and employees to participate in this initiative.

He expressed confidence that this new digital facility will significantly enhance the speed and accuracy of the upcoming census process. Das also thanked the Indian government for its excellent use of technology.

In addition, the Gujarat government has increased financial assistance for purchasing “Sanedo” farming vehicles under the ‘Kisan Parivahan Yojana.’ This initiative aims to reduce transportation costs for farmers and improve the logistics of moving agricultural produce, particularly in rural and remote areas of the state.

Agriculture Minister Jitu Vaghani announced this decision on Tuesday, stating that the increase in subsidies was approved after repeated requests from farmers and agricultural organizations. The assistance is provided for the purchase of the ‘Ride-On Self-Propelled Multipurpose Tool Bar,’ commonly known as ‘Sanedo,’ which is a three-wheeled farming vehicle widely used by farmers in the Saurashtra region.

Under the revised scheme, general category farmers will now receive a 40% subsidy on the total vehicle cost, capped at ₹60,000. Previously, the subsidy limit was ₹25,000. For Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe farmers, as well as small, marginal, and women farmers, the subsidy has been increased to 50% of the total cost, with a cap of ₹75,000.
