Nagpur, April 28: A grand honor ceremony was organized by the Dr. Hedgewar Memorial Committee in Nagpur, celebrating the contributions of individuals involved in the construction of the magnificent Ram Temple at the birthplace of Lord Ram. The event commenced with floral tributes to the statue of Bharat Mata. Notable attendees included Dr. Mohan Bhagwat, Chief of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), revered Govinddev Giri Maharaj, Committee President Suresh ‘Bhaiyaji’ Joshi, and Vice President Shridhar Gadge, among others.
In his address, Mohan Bhagwat emphasized that the temple was built with the will of Lord Ram. He stated, “Just as every piece of wood is needed to lift Govardhan, the temple was constructed through collective efforts. The upliftment of Sanatan Dharma is essential for the elevation of Bharat.” He referenced the words of Yogi Aurobindo from 150 years ago, highlighting that as each piece of wood is added, the strength of God’s finger will flow to fulfill this resolve.
Bhagwat urged attendees to reflect on the process of upliftment that began from 1857, culminating in the 2014 Lok Sabha election results and the swearing-in of the new government under Narendra Modi. He noted that while India had bid farewell to British rule on August 15, 1947, uncertainty lingered until recent times.
He questioned the identity of India, asking, “What does it mean for India to rise? Is India just a name?” He acknowledged that without the massive movement for the Ram Temple, its construction might not have been possible. “The decision to build the Ram Temple was made, but without the right people, how could it have been erected?” he asked, stressing that every individual contributed to this monumental effort.
Bhagwat asserted that India must stand as a beacon of faith for the world. He reflected on the RSS’s journey over the past century, noting that it began with nothing—no fame, power, or resources. Yet, through faith and dedication, it has grown. He remarked, “People laughed at the early days, but now they acknowledge that India is a Hindu nation.”
He concluded by stating that the construction of the temple in Ayodhya is complete, and a trusted council has been formed to ensure that every heart contributes to building the nation’s temple. This effort must be pursued with unwavering faith and dedication.
Bhaiyaji Joshi added that the temple is not merely a religious site but a symbol of pride and restoration for Hindu society. He noted that this movement has sparked nationwide awareness and serves as a center for the faith of millions. Champat Rai shared intriguing and technical aspects of the temple’s construction, revealing that minimal iron and cement were used to ensure its durability for a thousand years. The project was realized with the collaboration of artisans, engineers, and institutions from across the country, with support from nearly 10 crore people.
