Jaipur, February 21: Rajasthan’s Jhalawar police have successfully dismantled a counterfeit currency racket, leading to the arrest of three individuals. Authorities reported that 103 fake Indian currency notes, each valued at 500 rupees, were seized during the operation.

This action was part of a special statewide initiative aimed at curbing the circulation of counterfeit currency and illegal financial activities, directed by police headquarters.

Under the supervision of Jhalawar Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar, a police team from the Manohar police station conducted a routine patrol and checkpoint at the Dangi Pura junction, where they apprehended the suspects.

According to SP Amit Kumar, the operation was led by Station House Officer Mahendra Kumar Yadav, who established a checkpoint under stringent surveillance measures. During the operation, three young men on a motorcycle raised suspicion as they attempted to flee upon noticing the police presence. However, alert officers quickly surrounded them, preventing their escape.

Upon searching the suspects, police recovered 103 counterfeit Indian notes of 500 rupees each. Additionally, the motorcycle used for transportation was also confiscated during the seizure. The arrested individuals have been identified as Kamal Singh Tanwar (30) and Ramcharan alias Kalu Tanwar (35), both residents of Dangi Pura village, and Dev Singh Tanwar (30) from the Manohar area.

Police officials noted that Constable Tejram played a crucial role by providing vital information, assisting the team in tracking and apprehending the suspects. A case has been registered at the Jhalarapatan police station under relevant sections, and further investigations are ongoing.

Authorities are currently interrogating the suspects to trace the source of the counterfeit notes and identify other individuals, suppliers, or organized networks involved in the counterfeit currency racket. As the investigation progresses, more arrests and recoveries are anticipated.
