Mumbai: A new television serial titled ‘Laxmi Nivas’ is all set to explore the struggles and dreams of a middle-class family. The show’s launch event was held recently, where the cast introduced the storyline to the media.
Actor Rajendra Chawla, who plays the lead role of Srinivas, appeared alongside his on-screen wife Laxmi at the launch. Speaking about his character, Rajendra shared that Srinivas has spent most of his life supporting his family but has not yet been able to provide a home for his wife. Now, he is determined to work harder to fulfill this dream for Laxmi.
On the other hand, Laxmi aspires to see her daughters married into good families. Although their dreams differ, both Srinivas and Laxmi live for the welfare of their family. Rajendra expressed that the serial reflects the daily realities of many middle-class households, portraying the love and hardships experienced by millions across the country.
He added, “When Srinivas comes home and opens the door, the key is his but the roof does not truly belong to him.” This statement highlights the emotional and financial challenges faced by the character.
‘Laxmi Nivas’ will begin airing from 12th January on GTV UK. The show features several new faces while focusing on an emotional narrative of middle-class struggles and aspirations. Television actress Akshita Mudgal plays the role of Radhika, the elder daughter of Srinivas and Laxmi.
Akshita described her character as a devoted daughter who lives for her parents and family. She deeply loves her siblings and considers her family her entire world. Radhika’s dreams are closely tied to fulfilling her parents’ wishes, adding depth to the family-oriented storyline.
