Dinesh Karthik Urges Caution in Comparing Vaibhav Suryavanshi to Sachin Tendulkar

New Delhi, May 21: Former Indian wicketkeeper-batsman Dinesh Karthik has advised against labeling the explosive 15-year-old Vaibhav Suryavanshi as the next Sachin Tendulkar. Suryavanshi has been making waves in IPL 2026 with his remarkable batting skills. Karthik emphasized that the challenges faced by this young talent will be entirely different.

In an upcoming episode of the IQOO podcast “Quest Talk,” Karthik stated, “What Vaibhav is doing is very special. However, I don’t want people to start calling him the ‘next Sachin.’ He is only 15 years old and performing brilliantly at this age. I believe what Sachin accomplished was extraordinary. The challenges Vaibhav will face will be completely different.”

Karthik elaborated, “Sachin faced numerous challenges both on and off the field. Vaibhav will certainly encounter more challenges off the field. He has no shortage of cricketing talent, but he will need to learn how to handle situations outside of the game.”

Discussing the evolution of the IPL from 2008 to 2026, Karthik noted, “The IPL has transformed significantly since its inception. The game has developed rapidly, and much has changed.”

He added, “It is now the fastest-growing format. It has become a pathway to a better lifestyle for many and a strong career option for young boys and girls looking to embrace the sport. In a very short time, it is competing fiercely with other sports tournaments worldwide.”

Vaibhav Suryavanshi has astonished cricket fans and critics alike with his performance in IPL 2026. Playing for the Rajasthan Royals, the left-handed batsman has scored 579 runs in 13 matches, including one century and three half-centuries.
