Mumbai, May 21: Actor Jackie Shroff is buzzing with excitement for his upcoming film, ‘The Great Grand Superhero.’ While promoting the film, he shared his special bond with children, stating that he communicates with them as a friend, bridging any generational gap.
In the film, Shroff plays a superhero grandfather, a role that closely resembles his real-life persona.
In an interview with a news agency, Shroff revealed that he immediately accepted the film offer. He noted that the concept of a ‘superhero grandfather’ is entirely new and unique in Hindi cinema.
He remarked, “I thought to myself, the director Manish Saini has won three National Awards. He is trustworthy. When he narrated the story to me, I loved it. The character is a grandfather who behaves like a friend to his grandchildren. That’s how I interact with kids in real life. There’s no generational gap between us.”
With a humorous tone, he added, “Then that grandfather becomes a superhero. I’ve wanted to be a superhero since childhood. I felt this was a golden opportunity for me. I knew I could embody the role of an older man, so there was no question of saying no to this film.”
Shroff expressed that the film holds a special place in his heart. He praised director Manish Saini, noting that despite his 40-year career, he has yet to win a National Award, while Saini has received three. Working with him is a privilege.
‘The Great Grand Superhero’ is set to hit theaters on May 29. According to the makers, Shroff will portray a significant character that promises to entertain both children and adults, blending action, emotion, and comedy beautifully.
