Mumbai, May 21: The threat of cyber crime continues to escalate, affecting numerous individuals daily. Renowned actor Ronit Bose Roy, known for his roles in ‘Udaan’ and ‘2 States’, has fallen victim to cyber fraud. On Thursday, he took to social media to inform his fans and urge them to remain vigilant.
Ronit revealed that someone is impersonating him, reaching out to people, particularly women, and soliciting money. He shared details on his official Instagram account, including the phone number and email ID used by the impersonator.
In a direct warning to the criminal, he stated, “The police are coming for you.” Ronit also mentioned that the fraudster is attempting to book services in his name. The number he disclosed is 3318085685, and the email ID is ronitroybookings@hotmail.com. He cautioned, “I have been made aware that someone is using my name to contact people, especially women, and asking for money. Everyone should stay alert.”
He clarified that he never contacts women through social media or any other means, nor does he request money. Ronit urged his fans and the public to report any suspicious contact made in his name. He also shared screenshots of conversations where the impersonator was soliciting money using his identity. He warned everyone that such fraudsters exploiting celebrity names are on the rise.
Ronit Bose Roy emphasized, “Be very cautious of those who take advantage of a celebrity’s identity to deceive people. Neither I nor my representatives will ever contact anyone for money or assistance.”
