Fortunately, as the incident occurred on a Sunday, when schools were closed, no casualties were reported. The school accommodates over 1,000 students, raising concerns about infrastructure safety in rain-hit regions.

Leh: Air Force Rescues 21 Stranded Civilians in Nubra Valley

In Leh’s Nubra Valley, the Indian Air Force conducted a rescue mission, evacuating 21 civilians, including five women, stranded due to landslides and flash floods. Adverse weather and blocked routes had cut off access to the valley, making aerial evacuation the only viable option.

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued an orange alert for Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Telangana, and Karnataka, indicating the possibility of very heavy rainfall and associated hazards.
A yellow alert for rainfall is in place across most parts of the country today, urging citizens to remain cautious and prepared for localized flooding, traffic disruptions, and landslides in hilly terrain.
