Major Breakthrough for Delhi Police: Two Brothers Arrested for Vehicle Theft and Burglary

New Delhi, May 22: The Delhi Police’s South District has achieved a significant success in tackling vehicle theft and burglary cases. Alert personnel from the C.R. Park police station apprehended two brothers during routine vehicle checks near Alaknanda Market. Both suspects were involved in vehicle theft and multiple burglary incidents.

Upon noticing the police, the suspects attempted to flee on a motorcycle, but officers pursued and apprehended them. The motorcycle was reported stolen from Vasant Kunj North, with an e-FIR already filed.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Deepak alias Sethi (31 years) and Tinku alias Bhola (29 years), sons of Rajender, residents of Aya Nagar, South Delhi. During interrogation, they revealed that their involvement in theft and burglary began after developing a drug addiction due to bad company. They used the stolen motorcycle to scout the area and targeted vacant homes.

The brothers primarily focused on houses that had been unoccupied for an extended period. At night, they would break in through rooftops, balconies, or back entrances. They hid the stolen goods at home before selling them in the market.

The police recovered a substantial amount of stolen property from the suspects, including 11 mobile phones, 7 wristwatches, 2 gold chains, approximately 750 grams of gold and silver jewelry, ₹99,000 in cash, a silver idol, a folding knife, and the stolen motorcycle.

This arrest has solved a total of 5 cases, including 3 burglary cases from the Fatehpur Beri police station, 1 vehicle theft case from Vasant Kunj, and 1 Arms Act case from C.R. Park.

According to the South District Police, neither of the suspects had a prior criminal record. The police stated that this operation marks a significant step in cracking down on street crimes and property-related offenses.

The South District Police Commissioner commended the team, emphasizing that such operations will continue under a ‘zero tolerance’ policy towards crime.
