Dabbu Malik Remembers Recording Sessions with Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhosle

Mumbai, May 4: Renowned musician Dabbu Malik recently expressed deep nostalgia as he reminisced about his experiences attending the recording sessions of legendary artists like Kishore Kumar, Mohammed Rafi, Asha Bhosle, and Lata Mangeshkar.

Dabbu shared a rare black-and-white photograph connected to the iconic Film Center Studios. He recalled the aroma and ambiance of the room where some of India’s finest voices created timeless melodies.

In his social media post, Dabbu wrote, “This is Film Center Studios… I remember the room behind that door… It’s the same monitor room where I sat on one of these chairs and spent hours on the black sofa in the back…”

He continued, “I attended the recordings of Kishore Da, Rafi Sahab, Asha Ji, and Lata Ji… I can’t even describe how magnificent that assembly room was… its fragrance, feeling, and atmosphere… Soon, I will be nostalgic again and create memories for all music lovers… The legends in this picture are the foundation of our musical heritage.”

The photograph shared by Dabbu features RD Burman, Mohammed Rafi, and other musical giants.

Dabbu Malik is not only a musician but also a lyricist, writer, and singer. Over the years, he has contributed to numerous Hindi film albums. Besides his musical journey, he is known as the father of singers Armaan Malik and Amal Malik.

Speaking of the legendary singer Lata Mangeshkar, she began her career at the young age of 13 with her first song in Marathi cinema. Throughout her nearly nine-decade-long career, she sang thousands of songs in various languages and earned the title of “Nightingale of India.”

Lata Mangeshkar passed away in February 2022 at the age of 92 due to age-related complications.

Her sister Asha Bhosle also had an extraordinary career in music, known for her versatility in singing. Asha Bhosle passed away on April 12 at the age of 92 due to multi-organ failure, leaving behind an impressive legacy of 83 years.

Kishore Kumar was a celebrated playback singer, also known as an actor, musician, film producer, and performer. Throughout his nearly four-decade career, he delivered many immortal songs.
