Mumbai, June 3: Popular television actress Shilpa Shinde has opened up about her past controversies once again. Known for her role as Angoori Bhabi in the hit show ‘Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain,’ Shinde revealed that the sexual harassment allegations she made against the show’s producer were false. She explained why it took her nine years to disclose this truth.
In a recent podcast with Bharti Singh and Harsh Limbachiya, Shinde stated that at the time, she felt she had no other option but to file a sexual harassment case against the producer.
During the conversation, Shinde shared that she wanted to reveal the entire truth back then, but there was an understanding with the producers that neither party would comment on the matter in the media.
“I wanted to say everything at that time, but we had this commitment not to discuss the issue publicly. It wasn’t that I was scared; I never felt fear. I have faced similar situations before because I have never prioritized money,” Shinde said.
The actress alleged that various accusations were made against her throughout the controversy. She claimed this was part of an attempt to bind her to a contract, as the show was extremely popular at that time.
Shinde emphasized that people know she speaks out whenever she sees something wrong. She never hesitates to voice her opinion on set.
She also mentioned that when she feels hurt in any situation, she distances herself. This has led her to lose several projects in her career.
In the podcast, she stated, “No one knows this. I am not afraid to speak the truth. I filed a sexual harassment case against my producer because I had no other way out. That was how I managed to escape that situation, and later the matter was resolved.”
