Kanpur Dehat, June 3: Former minister Shiv Kumar Beria has made serious allegations against Uttar Pradesh Cabinet member Om Prakash Rajbhar.
In a conversation with reporters on Wednesday, Beria stated, “First of all, I would prefer not to comment on leaders like Om Prakash Rajbhar. I know such leaders well. This is the same Om Prakash Rajbhar who once approached our leader Akhilesh Yadav, pleading for support. He then acquired a ticket and sold it for millions.”
Beria described Rajbhar as a leader of little stature. He claimed that Rajbhar approached Akhilesh Yadav to obtain a ticket, which he later sold to individuals for exorbitant prices—some for 30 lakh and others for 35 lakh rupees. “This practice has been ongoing for a long time. What can you expect from such individuals? The political integrity of such leaders is always in jeopardy,” he added.
He mentioned that Akhilesh Yadav himself acknowledged in a meeting that granting a ticket to Rajbhar was a mistake. Notably, those who purchased tickets from Rajbhar were also present at the meeting.
Beria questioned the credibility of someone who sells tickets, stating, “What can you expect from someone who trades in tickets? History shows that Om Prakash Rajbhar frequently changes parties before elections. What can be said about leaders who are known for switching parties? Their primary role seems to be acquiring tickets and then selling them.”
