Mumbai, June 3: The Producers Guild of India has issued a strong statement regarding the controversy surrounding actor Ranveer Singh and the film ‘Don 3.’ This announcement was made on Wednesday amidst growing concerns in the film industry.
Led by Shibasish Sarkar, the guild shared a note on the social media platform X, criticizing the irresponsible behavior of artists. Such actions negatively impact the entire film industry.
The statement highlighted, “Recently, several incidents have emerged where artists, directors, and technicians have withdrawn from their commitments at the last moment. The Producers Guild of India has received formal complaints from its member Excel Entertainment Private Limited and Panorama Studios International Limited regarding this issue. These problems arose just before the main shooting of films was set to begin.”
The guild further emphasized, “No member of the film industry should engage in such behavior, as it causes significant financial losses to producers and adversely affects other sectors of the industry. Such actions undermine the trust, professionalism, and mutual respect that the entire film industry is built upon.”
Additionally, the Producers Guild pointed out that such incidents damage the brand value of any film and affect the livelihoods of hundreds of technicians and crew members who depend on these projects.
The statement concluded, “The guild wants to clarify that it always supports a fair and independent business environment. Promoting any disruption in the content creation process is inappropriate. Such attitudes are unethical and harm the collaborative spirit of the film-making community. We urge all parties to resolve their disputes amicably and with mutual understanding. The guild will continue to strive for the interests of the film fraternity.”
