Patna, June 1: This year, the renowned Zardalu mangoes from Bihar will be savored by the President and Prime Minister. The Bihar government is preparing to send these famous mangoes from Bhagalpur to the highest offices in the country.
Special gifts of Zardalu mangoes will be dispatched to the President, Prime Minister, central ministers, and delegates arriving from both domestic and international locations. The processing unit in Bihta, Patna, has already begun special packaging of the mangoes. After packaging, these mangoes will be sent to distinguished recipients. On Monday, the state’s Industry Minister, Shreyasi Singh, personally inspected the packaging process.
Minister Shreyasi Singh emphasized that Zardalu mangoes are not just a fruit; they symbolize Bihar’s identity and pride. She mentioned that, under the Chief Minister‘s initiative, this year, approximately eight tons of Zardalu mangoes will be sent as special gifts to the President, Prime Minister, and all central ministers.
During her visit, she toured the Inland Container Depot in Bihta to observe the ongoing operations and facilities. She engaged with officials and staff to gain insights into container handling, cargo transport, and export procedures. Following this, the minister inspected the Integrated Irradiation Center established in the Bihta industrial area.
This center features a pack house, cold storage, and modern processing facilities, enhancing the quality and storage capacity of agricultural and food products. During her inspection, she observed the activities at the center and conversed with employees to understand its operations and utility in agricultural exports.
The minister noted that this is Bihar’s first radiation center built on new technology, significantly benefiting local farmers. Plans are underway to establish similar radiation centers in various districts of Bihar to streamline export-import processes. It is worth mentioning that Prime Minister Narendra Modi highlighted Bihar’s famous Zardalu mangoes in his “Mann Ki Baat.”
