Bhupesh Baghel Criticizes Chhattisgarh Governments Performance

Durg, June 1: Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has once again targeted the Chhattisgarh government. During a mass wedding ceremony organized under the Chief Minister’s Daughter Marriage Scheme in Bemetra, Baghel commented on Assembly Speaker Raman Singh’s reprimand of officials, stating it clearly indicates that all is not well in the state and that the government has completely failed.

On May 31, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai was also present at the event. Displeased with the arrangements, Raman Singh scolded the Collector and Superintendent of Police, claiming that preparations were not up to the dignity of the Chief Minister’s office. He mentioned that he had never witnessed such disarray in his long political career.

Baghel noted that there has been a consistent clash within the BJP government and at the administrative level. He pointed out that officials are being reprimanded, the public is angry, and farmers are distressed. He emphasized that these issues were evident in Bemetra, where, although Raman Singh was scolding officials, his remarks were directed at the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister.

In a sarcastic tone, Baghel remarked, “Raman Singh has clearly sent a message that you are unable to manage power. He is the most experienced leader in the state, having served as Chief Minister for 15 years and now as Assembly Speaker. If he is making such comments, it means that everything is not going well.”

The former Chief Minister also raised concerns regarding farmers’ issues. He stated that the farming season has begun, yet farmers are still struggling to obtain fertilizers. Complaints about shortages of DAP, urea, and potash are rampant. Additionally, power supply disruptions have further exacerbated farmers’ difficulties.

Baghel highlighted fuel shortages at petrol pumps, affecting the availability of petrol and diesel in several areas. This situation is impacting both transportation and agriculture. He warned that with schools and colleges set to reopen soon, ongoing fuel issues could affect students’ commutes.

Furthermore, Baghel criticized Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai’s statement claiming there is no shortage of rice, fertilizers, or other essential goods in the state, asserting that the government is fully monitoring the situation. Baghel quipped, “Absolutely right, there is no shortage of anything; it’s just that people are not getting it.”

Additionally, Baghel supported Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s concerns regarding the evaluation of CBSE answer sheets, targeting the central government. He stated that incidents of paper leaks are continuously emerging, and the government is unable to conduct a single exam properly.

Expressing sorrow over a road accident in Himachal Pradesh, Baghel conveyed his condolences to the Chandrakar family, who suffered significant losses. Upon learning of the incident, he contacted the Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh and other ministers. Baghel noted that the accident site was in a very difficult area, making access challenging. Local authorities and police worked hard to retrieve the bodies and complete further procedures.
