Anil Vij Claims India Alliance is History, BJP Will Govern Punjab

Chandigarh, June 1: Haryana Minister Anil Vij has asserted that the India Alliance is now a thing of the past. He expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will also form a government in Punjab.

Commenting on Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s response to the attack on Trinamool Congress (TMC) leader Abhishek Banerjee, Vij stated that Gandhi lacks consistency in his statements and often changes his position. He noted that the Congress leadership is under pressure due to continuous electoral defeats, leading to inconsistent remarks from Gandhi on various issues.

In response to questions regarding the safety of former West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and the attack on Banerjee, Vij told a news agency that the rule of law prevails in the state, and the government is conducting an investigation. He emphasized that all facts will be made public once the investigation is complete and urged waiting for the report before drawing conclusions.

Regarding the India Alliance, Vij claimed that the coalition has become obsolete. He stated that the ideologies of the parties involved have never aligned, nor has there been any lasting political harmony among them. He argued that the alliance has been limited to formality and political posturing, failing to make a significant impact on the ground.

On the prospects of the BJP in Punjab, Vij expressed optimism that the party will establish a government in the state soon. He remarked that whether in Punjab or any other state, the public has recognized that the only party capable of delivering is the BJP, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He noted that the opposition’s strongholds are crumbling, and Punjab will follow suit, with the public desiring a BJP government.

When asked about his relations with state administration and officials, Vij clarified that he does not reprimand officials but provides necessary instructions for effective administrative functioning. He emphasized that maintaining accountability and efficiency in governance is his priority.

Regarding the leadership change in Karnataka, he mentioned that it is an internal matter for the party. Each political party makes decisions based on its circumstances and needs, and commenting on such matters would not be appropriate. He hinted that the party is currently dealing with its internal challenges.

Welcoming Dr. Archana Gupta’s appointment as the new state president of the BJP in Haryana, Vij stated that the party not only advocates for women’s empowerment but also provides leadership opportunities. He believes that this significant step will inject new energy and momentum into the organization under Dr. Gupta’s leadership.
