Varanasi Police Uncovers Robbery in Just Hours, Arrests Three Suspects

Varanasi, June 1: The Varanasi police in Uttar Pradesh have swiftly solved a robbery case within hours. The Sarangnath police apprehended three criminals, recovering four mobile phones, the motorcycle used in the crime, and ₹2,510 from their possession.

The incident occurred last Sunday when the assailants physically assaulted a passerby and two companions, forcibly transferring ₹99,000 into their account. Acting on the information received, the police registered a case and quickly arrested the three robbers.

ADCP Lipi Nagayach reported that on May 31, Ajay Yadav informed the Sarangnath police via emergency number 112. He was traveling with two others on Singhpur Ring Road, near Singhpur Overbridge, when three unidentified individuals on a motorcycle stopped them around 2:30 PM. The assailants verbally abused and assaulted them, stealing their cash and forcing a transfer of ₹99,000 through PhonePe from their phones.

Upon receiving the report, the Sarangnath police filed a case under relevant sections and formed a team to apprehend the criminals. Utilizing information from the victims and technical evidence, the police arrested all three suspects within 12 hours. During interrogation, the robbers confessed to their crime. The police are now conducting further inquiries and preparing legal actions against the arrested individuals.
