Zeenat Aman Moved to Tears by Olive Ridley Turtles in Goa

Mumbai, March 23: Actress Zeenat Aman often shares special moments on social media to connect with her fans. In her latest post, she discusses the Olive Ridley turtles in Goa.

Zeenat became emotional witnessing the beautiful sight of baby Olive Ridley turtles hatching. Expressing her feelings on Instagram, she described it as an unexpected moment in her life. As the sun set, with a gentle breeze and cool sand on the beach, she watched the newborn turtles take their first steps into the world, bringing tears to her eyes.

She revealed that just weeks earlier, hundreds of female turtles had emerged from the sea to lay their eggs. Now, under the moonlit night, those eggs hatched, and members of the Goa Forest Department assisted the tiny turtles. They cleared the sand to help the hatchlings reach the ocean.

Zeenat noted that only one in a thousand of these turtles survives, facing challenges such as pollution, fishing boats, and ecosystem degradation.

The actress appealed to Chief Minister Dr. Pramod Sawant to take action against environmental threats in Goa, warning that this ‘paradise’ could be lost forever.

She connected this experience to the Earth’s resilience and ancient wisdom. Zeenat acknowledged that while human suffering is immense, feeling emotional about the turtles’ birth may seem odd. However, she emphasized that our connection to nature and the compassion it fosters is what can preserve humanity.

She expressed deep concern for Goa’s environment, stating that the water in its rivers and seas has become so polluted that swimming and fishing are no longer safe.
