Xiaomi has introduced its new Mijia 636L side-by-side refrigerator in China, priced at 1,899 yuan (approximately ₹2,200). A special launch offer reduces the price to 1,799 yuan (around ₹2,080). The refrigerator will be available for purchase starting January 15. This latest model upgrades the previous 610L version, maintaining the same price range.
Spacious Design for Large Families
The Xiaomi Mijia 636L refrigerator offers a total capacity of 636 litres, with 394 litres allocated to the fridge section and 242 litres to the freezer. Designed to meet the needs of large households, it is capable of storing food sufficient for up to two weeks. The interior includes 18 distinct storage zones, adjustable glass shelves, and deep door racks that can hold bottles in two rows. The large drawers add further convenience, and the door’s 90-degree opening angle allows easy access even when placed close to a wall.
Enhanced Hygiene and Freezing Features
The refrigerator incorporates a comprehensive silver ion antibacterial and deodorization system across both compartments. Xiaomi claims this system achieves a 99.99% antibacterial rate against bacteria such as Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus, along with a 99% deodorization efficiency to prevent odour mixing between stored items. It also meets strict zero-grade mould resistance standards. Cooling is managed by a 360-degree surround air circulation system with frost-free technology that ensures uniform temperature distribution. The fast freezing function can freeze up to 10 kilograms of food within 12 hours, helping to maintain the texture and nutritional value of meats.
Energy Efficiency and Smart Connectivity
Equipped with a dual-inverter compressor and fan, the refrigerator uses four built-in temperature sensors to continuously monitor and stabilise internal conditions. It holds a Grade 1 energy efficiency rating, consuming only 0.95 kWh per day. Noise levels have been reduced to 34 decibels, slightly quieter than its predecessor’s 36 decibels. Xiaomi offers a 10-year warranty on the compressor. Smart features are supported via the Mi Home app, allowing users to adjust temperatures remotely, select cooling modes, receive over-the-air updates, and control the appliance through voice commands with Xiao Ai-compatible devices.
In addition to this launch, Xiaomi recently debuted its flagship electric shaver with dual-ring stainless steel blades and a battery life lasting up to 95 days.
