Lucknow, May 11: On National Technology Day, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath addressed the citizens, highlighting the significance of the day. He recalled the achievements of ‘Operation Shakti’ in 1998, emphasizing that technology is the foundation of self-reliance. He urged the youth to embrace innovation through AI, robotics, drones, quantum technology, and startups to transform Uttar Pradesh into the ‘Deep Tech Capital’ of the country.
CM Yogi stated, “Every year, May 11 is celebrated as National Technology Day. This date was not chosen randomly. On this day in 1998, India conducted three successful nuclear tests under ‘Operation Shakti’ at Pokhran, showcasing our scientific talent, technological confidence, and national strength. On this same day, the indigenous aircraft ‘Hans-3’ successfully flew, and the indigenous ‘Trishul’ missile was also tested. Technology is not just a means of development; it is a powerful foundation for self-reliance.”
He further explained, “The state government is moving forward with this mantra. Today, technology has moved from laboratories to fields, making life easier for the public. Direct Benefit Transfers (DBT) are being facilitated through technology. The online self-assessment facility is a result of this technological advancement. Last year, Uttar Pradesh’s own Shubanshu Shukla made 140 crore Indians proud with a successful space flight, showcasing the wonders of technology. We should draw inspiration from this.”
CM Yogi emphasized, “Empowered youth are the foundation of the state’s prosperity. In this regard, missions in robotics and AI have been launched. The data center cluster initiative is underway. The government is ensuring modern training for youth through the ‘Tech Youth-Supported Youth’ scheme. With the mantra ‘Innovate in UP, Scale for the World,’ our government is committed to making Uttar Pradesh the ‘Deep Tech Capital’ of the country by advancing in drones, quantum technology, green hydrogen, and med-tech. Today, Uttar Pradesh is a leading state in IT parks, startups, and manufacturing, even producing BrahMos missiles.”
He concluded with a message for the youth: “Technology is like time. Falling behind in technology means falling behind in time. Keeping pace with technology means moving towards a strong present and a golden future. Learn the latest technologies, adopt innovation, and actively participate in building a self-reliant state. This would be a true tribute to former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee.”
