
New Delhi, March 18: The ICC Women’s T20 World Cup 2026 is set to take place in England from June 12 to July 5. This will be the tenth edition of the tournament, featuring 12 teams. Each team is currently preparing for the World Cup in their own way. The West Indies team considers its upcoming tour of Australia crucial for their World Cup preparations.
The series between the Australia and West Indies women’s teams will consist of three T20 matches, scheduled for March 19, 21, and 23. West Indies captain Hayley Matthews regards this series as vital for their T20 World Cup readiness.
Matthews expressed her eagerness to capitalize on the opportunities presented during the tour, especially after months of being together as a group again in Australia. She stated, “This is going to be very beneficial for us.”
She emphasized the significance of the series, noting, “I think it will be a good test of where we stand as a team right now. With just a few months left until the World Cup, we hope to see some positive outcomes and learn a lot from this series.”
The West Indies will approach this series as a preparation for the T20 World Cup. The team, which won the title in 2016, is gearing up to face Australia with full strength.
