Lucknow, May 13: Samajwadi Party legislator Ravidas Mehrotra expressed his condolences over the passing of Pratik Yadav, son of Mulayam Singh Yadav, and called for a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death. He raised concerns, stating that there were visible signs of injury on Pratik’s body.
In an interview, Mehrotra claimed that Pratik Yadav had already passed away before reaching the hospital. He stated, “I inquired about why Pratik Yadav is undergoing an autopsy. The doctor indicated that his death was not normal, but rather occurred under suspicious circumstances. Therefore, an autopsy is being conducted. I also learned that there were signs of injury on Pratik’s body.”
The legislator added, “I can only say that his death is surrounded by suspicion. He was young and dedicated to fitness. He passed away before reaching the doctor, and now an autopsy is underway. Generally, autopsies are not performed under normal circumstances; they are conducted when there are suspicious circumstances. Hence, an investigation is necessary to determine the cause of death.”
Earlier, Samajwadi Party spokesperson Shaukat Ali also demanded an inquiry into Pratik Yadav’s death. He stated, “We have lost a young individual. This matter requires investigation.”
He further remarked, “He was a young man serving society, and now he is no longer with us. This is a matter of great concern and sorrow for all of us. It is a tragic incident, and all aspects must be thoroughly investigated. It should be determined what caused his demise. Whatever becomes clear in the investigation should be made known to everyone.”
Meanwhile, SP MP Awadhesh Prasad expressed his grief over Pratik Yadav’s passing, saying, “We received news early in the morning that Pratik Yadav is no longer with us. It is hard to believe. This is a very sad and painful incident. I pay my respects to him with a heavy heart. I pray that God grants the bereaved family the strength to endure such immense sorrow.”
