Chandigarh, May 13: The shooting incident at the residence of Punjabi singer Diljit Dosanjh’s manager has sparked serious allegations from Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader and Punjab minister Harpal Singh Cheema. He claims that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is responsible for the attack, which he links to Dosanjh’s recent rejection of an offer to join the party.
In a conversation, Cheema stated, “The entire nation knows that the BJP has been in power in Gujarat for a long time. Lawrence Bishnoi is currently imprisoned in Gujarat. Recently, the BJP requested Diljit Dosanjh to join their party, but he publicly declined, stating that he would continue with his shows. Following this, the attack on his manager and Bishnoi claiming responsibility indicates that anyone who refuses to join their party is threatened and attacked.”
Cheema emphasized that the BJP is an anti-Punjab party that has now revealed its true colors. He also commented on the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raids in Punjab, asserting, “Today, the BJP is using agencies like the ED, CBI, Income Tax Department, and Election Commission as tools for their objectives.”
Regarding the cancellation of the NEET-UG 2026 exam due to paper leak allegations, Cheema remarked, “Paper leak incidents occur in BJP-ruled states, and then the matter is handed over to the CBI, ultimately getting buried. The same seems to be happening with the NEET exam, as it is now being referred to the CBI. I believe this jeopardizes the future of millions of students who were meant to shape our nation’s future.”
In response to Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s appeal for citizens to save fuel and avoid purchasing gold, Cheema stated, “Many prominent individuals are involved in the gold trade, which employs millions. I believe the BJP has launched a significant attack on them. Gold is deeply connected to our daughters and women, making this a serious blow for them as well. It indicates that the country’s economy is becoming increasingly unstable and fragile.”
