Major Administrative Reshuffle in Punjab: Four IAS Officers Transferred

Chandigarh, May 13: The Punjab government has announced a significant administrative reshuffle, transferring four senior IAS officers. Official orders have been issued, directing all officers to assume their new roles immediately.

Ramveer, IAS (2009 batch), has been appointed as the Commissioner of the Jalandhar Division. He will also serve as the Additional Administrative Secretary in the Water Supply and Sanitation Department. Previously, Ramveer held additional responsibilities in the Information and Public Relations Department.

Ghanshyam Thori, IAS (2010 batch), has seen an expansion of his responsibilities. He was already serving as the Secretary of the Health and Family Welfare Department and the Mission Director of the National Health Mission Punjab. Now, he has also been appointed as the Additional Secretary in the Medical Education and Research Department, a position formerly held by Puneet Goyal, IAS.

Puneet Goyal, IAS (2010 batch), has received a new assignment as well. He is now responsible for both the Special Secretary and Director roles in the Information and Public Relations Department, taking over from Smita Gupta, IAS. He will continue to manage the office of the Administrative Secretary in the Information and Public Relations Department until a regular officer is appointed. Additionally, he will maintain his responsibilities with the Punjab State Traders Commission.

Meanwhile, Akshita Gupta, IAS (2021 batch), has been appointed as the Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) in Rupnagar district.

The government order clearly states that all officers must join their new positions immediately. Furthermore, the order regarding Arshdeep Singh Thind, IAS (2004), issued on May 8, has been revoked.
