Political Shifts: Raghav Chadha and Others Join BJP, Sparking Controversy in Punjab

Moga, April 24: The political landscape in Punjab is witnessing intense reactions following the inclusion of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) Rajya Sabha MP Raghav Chadha and several other MPs into the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Leaders from the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) have raised questions about AAP’s leadership and operational methods in light of this development.

SAD Vice President Sanjeet Singh ‘Sunny’ Gill commented, “The signs of Raghav Chadha’s political shift have been evident for some time. His increased time spent in Mumbai and reduced activity in Punjab raised suspicions that something significant was about to happen. In Parliament, Chadha’s stance also appeared to change; he was once vocal about Punjab’s issues but later seemed silent for extended periods.”

Gill likened the situation to a school scenario, stating, “This is akin to merely ‘changing sections’. Just as students switch sections within the same class, changing political parties does not significantly alter the fundamental system. The fact that so many MPs have left the party is a major indicator.”

In Chandigarh, SAD Vice President Parambans Singh Romana remarked, “If this information is accurate, the allegations of corruption within AAP cannot be overlooked. Discussions about the AAP government are rampant at all levels in Punjab, with new accusations surfacing continuously.”

SAD leader Bikram Singh Majithia also launched a sharp critique, asserting, “It was already evident that AAP was straying from its core principles. The party has distanced itself from its foundational ideas. Several prominent leaders, including Kumar Vishwas, Yogendra Yadav, and Prashant Bhushan, have previously left, indicating ongoing discontent within the organization.”

Majithia accused the party, which once claimed to advocate for systemic change, of becoming a compromising and corruption-tainted entity. He further stated that the current developments reinforce the perception that AAP has now become the ‘B-team’ of the BJP.
