Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma Orders Action Against Illegal Conversions

Jaipur, May 21: Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma has directed officials to take strict action against individuals involved in illegal conversions and government employees participating in political activities.

During a district-level review meeting in Banswara, CM Sharma also announced the development of sandalwood forests. Under the ‘Harialo Rajasthan’ campaign, 11,000 sandalwood saplings will be planted in designated forest areas.

He instructed the Forest Department to expedite the plantation campaign and enhance efforts for forest conservation and expansion. The Chief Minister emphasized the need for officials to conduct ground inspections and visit rural areas more seriously, ensuring timely resolution of public complaints.

On the second day of his three-day tour of Banswara and Dungarpur districts, CM Sharma chaired a district-level review meeting at the Banswara Collectorate auditorium. He reviewed the progress of government schemes, budget announcements, infrastructure projects, and welfare programs being implemented in the district.

CM Sharma urged officials to work with sensitivity, accountability, and dedication, ensuring that the benefits of government welfare schemes reach eligible beneficiaries without delay.

Expressing dissatisfaction with the performance of Banswara Municipal Commissioner Durgesh Singh Rawat, the Chief Minister ordered action against him. Following the meeting, the local self-government department issued an order placing the commissioner in a “waiting for posting order” status.

The Chief Minister also directed officials to increase ground tours, independently address local issues, and ensure timely solutions through regular monitoring and administrative coordination.

Highlighting the importance of water self-sufficiency before the monsoon season, CM Sharma instructed officials to ensure proper cleaning and maintenance of canals, ponds, reservoirs, and other water bodies. He stated that there is no alternative to water and that every drop from the Mahi River should be utilized effectively. He also stressed the need for adequate arrangements for drinking water supply and irrigation facilities.

The Chief Minister reviewed ongoing works under the ‘Chief Minister Water Self-Reliance Campaign.’ He directed that long-term projects related to water conservation, irrigation, and rural infrastructure development be prioritized while maintaining quality standards.

Reiterating the state government’s stance on law and order and administrative discipline, the Chief Minister instructed officials to take strict action against those involved in illegal conversions and government employees engaged in political activities.

He urged officials to take inspections and rural tours seriously and remain alert to the concerns and needs of local residents during field visits.

Additionally, the Chief Minister directed officials to make solid and continuous efforts to increase school admissions and retain students, especially in rural and tribal areas, during the current academic session.
