Gujarat Health Minister Honors Dr. Ganesh Baraiya, Inspires Youth to Overcome Challenges

Gandhinagar, May 5: Gujarat’s Health Minister, Praful Pansheriya, addressed students on Tuesday, urging them not to fear failure and to confront difficulties head-on. He expressed concern over the rising incidents of suicide among youth while honoring Dr. Ganesh Baraiya at the Bhavnagar Civil Hospital in Gandhinagar.

Dr. Ganesh Baraiya was recognized for his hard work and determination. Despite facing physical challenges, he achieved success in the fields of education and medicine. The minister stated that Baraiya’s life serves as an inspiration for the youth.

While addressing the gathering, the minister remarked, “One should not fear failure in life; instead, become a warrior like Dr. Ganesh Baraiya. His educational struggles illuminate the path for the youth.”

Expressing concern over the increasing suicide rates among students, the minister noted that such incidents are deeply painful for families. When a son or daughter takes their life, it shatters the dreams of their parents.

He urged students to work hard and move forward instead of succumbing to despair over failure, emphasizing that this is the true meaning of life. Students pursuing courses like medicine and engineering should not fear failure and must think carefully before making significant decisions.

The minister added that when students contemplate suicide in moments of despair, they should consider the pain it would cause their parents. He encouraged students living in hostels or away from home to spend quality time with their families instead of being preoccupied with their mobile devices. Success is not merely about becoming a doctor or engineer; it is the human values within a person that truly define greatness.

During the program, Dr. Ganesh Baraiya shared that he was initially rejected by the Medical Council of India but did not give up. He fought his case all the way to the Supreme Court to obtain his medical degree.

He expressed gratitude to his teacher, Dr. Dalpat Kataria, who supported him throughout his journey to the Supreme Court. The minister also praised the strong relationship between teachers and students, as well as the cooperation of the medical college dean and superintendent.
