Washington, March 2: Following violent protests outside the U.S. Consulate in Karachi, a conservative activist has called for the revocation of all visas for Pakistanis, including green cards. The unrest erupted after a U.S. attack on Iran.
Laura Loomer took to social media platform X, tagging Secretary of State Marco Rubio, stating, “The U.S. State Department should suspend all visas and green cards for Pakistanis as long as possible.”
This demand arose amid reports of violent clashes at the U.S. Consulate in Karachi. Loomer claimed that six protesters were killed and 20 others injured while attempting to breach the heavily secured consulate grounds.
She further alleged that during a second attempt to enter the consulate, several more individuals were shot and killed. Loomer asserted, “In retaliation for U.S. attacks on Iran, Pakistani terrorists are being shot on the spot by U.S. Marines stationed at the consulate.”
However, the exact number of casualties and the circumstances surrounding the shootings remain unverified. It is unclear whether the actions were taken by U.S. Marines or local Pakistani security forces.
Loomer criticized Pakistan for harboring Osama bin Laden and promoting extremism, accusing the country of inciting violence against Americans and Indians.
The U.S. State Department has not responded to her demands. Protests against U.S. military actions have been a recurring theme in Karachi, Pakistan’s largest city and economic hub.
