Agra, June 2: The Chief Election Commissioner of India, Gyanesh Kumar, visited the renowned Kailash Mahadev Temple in Agra on Tuesday, accompanied by his family. During the visit, he performed rituals and prayed to Lord Shiva, seeking prosperity for the citizens of the country.

After the prayers, Kumar addressed the media, stating that he and his wife, Anuradha Kumar, came to Agra, his birthplace, to seek blessings from his parents following the successful completion of elections in five states. He mentioned that he first sought his parents’ blessings before heading to the temple for Lord Shiva’s blessings.

Kumar emphasized the importance of active participation in the democratic process, urging all citizens to register to vote and participate in elections. He noted that a clean and updated voter list is the foundation of transparent and fair elections.

“I appeal to all voters through you to ensure they register and vote in the elections. A clean voter list is essential for transparent elections. Let us all participate actively in India’s elections. Jai Bharat, Jai Hind,” he stated.

It is noteworthy that Gyanesh Kumar arrived in Agra from Delhi on Monday evening, where he received blessings from his parents.
