Gujarat Deputy Chief Minister Urges UPSC Candidates to Stay Rooted

Gandhinagar, June 2: Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister Harsh Sanghvi addressed newly selected candidates from the state who passed the UPSC Civil Services Examination on Monday. He urged them to remain connected to their roots and grounded even after entering the country’s top administrative services. He emphasized that their professional success should also enhance their respect among the public.

During a congratulatory ceremony for the 35 successful candidates from Gujarat, Sanghvi praised their achievements and highlighted the state’s growing presence in this prestigious examination.

He noted that there was a time when it was rare to find a single Gujarati name on the UPSC list, but now, 35 candidates from Gujarat have successfully passed the exam.

Sanghvi credited this achievement to the visionary efforts behind strengthening the Sardar Patel Institute of Public Administration (SPIIPA). He mentioned that special attention was given to this institution during the tenure of former Gujarat Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi, along with necessary reforms.

He stated that the success of 35 candidates in a single year is the largest achievement by any state government-run institution to date.

Encouraging the successful candidates to remain humble throughout their careers, Sanghvi advised them never to forget their roots. He remarked that those who stay connected to their origins rarely face difficulties in life.

He urged them to work in ways that maintain the affection and trust of the people, even as their positions and responsibilities grow.

The minister also encouraged candidates to study administrative challenges in their areas of interest and propose practical solutions for government departments. He assured them that the government would consider viable recommendations for future implementation.
