The incident occurred in the Bhathpar Rani police jurisdiction, where the body of 22-year-old Sushil Sahni was discovered near the Savareji Bridge on the Gandak River. Following an extensive investigation, the police have unveiled the entire conspiracy behind the crime.
According to police reports, Sushil Sahni was murdered by four of his friends. The arrested suspects include Deepak God, Kamal Ansari, Naim Ansari, and Ashik Ansari. Authorities revealed that one of the accused had a prior record involving assault and verbal abuse.
Superintendent of Police Abhijit R. Shankar stated that the incident took place on the night of May 28, when all the accused and the victim went out for a drinking party. A dispute arose during the gathering, escalating into a violent altercation. In the heat of the moment, the accused assaulted Sushil and subsequently strangled him to death.
Following the murder, the suspects devised a plan to dispose of the body. They used a boat to transport the corpse to the middle of the Gandak River, hoping to eliminate any suspicion. However, the police investigation quickly unraveled the details of the case.
