Lucknow, May 20: A large poster has been displayed outside the headquarters of the Samajwadi Party in Uttar Pradesh’s capital, Lucknow. This poster accuses the BJP government of serious violations regarding reservations for the backward, Dalit, and minority (PDA) communities.
Through this poster, the Samajwadi Party claims that various government recruitments in the state are misleading OBC, SC, and ST candidates, failing to adhere to constitutional reservation rules.
Manoj Paswan, the National General Secretary of the Samajwadi Student Assembly, released the poster, alleging that the BJP government is jeopardizing the future of youth from the PDA community. He stated that the right to reservation in government jobs is being denied, with many recruitments not providing the mandated reservations for OBC, SC, and ST candidates.
The poster presents several concrete examples, with the most notable being the alleged scam in the recruitment of 69,000 assistant teachers. It claims that the OBC community was entitled to 27% reservation but received only 3.8%.
Similarly, in the UPSSSC Technical Assistant (Science and Agriculture) recruitment, the SC community was supposed to receive 723 positions based on 21% reservation but was allocated only 509 positions (14%). The OBC community, entitled to 930 positions, received only 629. In the Gram Panchayat Officer recruitment, out of 1,468 positions, OBC candidates were supposed to receive 396 positions based on 27% reservation but were given only 139.
In the recruitment of assistant professors at Banda Agricultural University, it is reported that candidates from the Chief Minister’s community were selected at a rate of 80%. Additionally, various issues have been raised regarding the UPPSC’s elimination of overlapping reservations for OBC, SC/ST, lateral entry recruitments, the Agricultural Scientist Selection Board, the Block Education Officer Exam 2019, NFS reservations in universities, and the appointment of 90% non-PDA candidates to VC positions in universities. Manoj Paswan urged youth to raise their voices against these recruitment scams.
