CBSE Rejects Rahul Gandhis Allegations Regarding Exam Evaluation Process

New Delhi, May 28: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially dismissed all allegations concerning the digital evaluation of answer sheets for the 2026 board exams. The board stated that the contract awarded to Coempt Edutech was granted following a transparent and rule-compliant process. CBSE labeled these claims as misleading, incorrect, and unfounded.

In a post on the social media platform ‘X’, the CBSE headquarters asserted that all protocols of the General Financial Rules (GFR) were strictly adhered to during the contract awarding process. According to the board, the Request for Proposal (RFP) for the digital evaluation of answer sheets for the 2026 exams was published on the Central Public Procurement Portal on August 28, 2025, and the contract was awarded only to qualified bidders.

The controversy escalated when Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi accused the CBSE of manipulating exam results. In a social media post, he claimed that irregularities in the evaluation system have impacted the futures of approximately 1.85 crore students. He called for an independent judicial inquiry and a Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigation into the matter.

Gandhi expressed that millions of students and their parents across the country are in shock due to the discrepancies in the CBSE results. He criticized the central government for its lack of accountability on this issue.

Additionally, he alleged that Coempt, the company assigned this responsibility, previously operated under the name Globarena and had faced controversies in Telangana in 2019. Gandhi questioned the basis on which the contract was awarded to this company and whether a background check was conducted. He also inquired about the company’s management’s connections to the government.
