CM Yogi Adityanath Emphasizes Quality and Timeliness in Police Housing Projects

Lucknow, May 28: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the Uttar Pradesh Police Housing Corporation on Wednesday. He emphasized the need for improved residential and working facilities to enhance the efficiency and morale of police personnel. The Chief Minister directed that construction of police lines, stations, barracks, fire stations, and other facilities must be completed with a focus on quality and timeliness.

He stated that a strong infrastructure is essential for modern policing, and there should be no compromise on technical standards during construction. The meeting revealed that the police housing corporation is currently operational in 75 districts across the state, managing a total of 233 construction projects through six units. Out of these, 221 projects are on schedule.

Additionally, it was reported that from 2023 to May 20, 2026, a total of 1,586 construction projects have been completed at a cost of approximately ₹1,104 crores. These projects include multi-story barracks, transit hostels, police station buildings, fire stations, police outposts, GRP barracks, ATS field units, and projects related to the Mahakumbh-2025. Facilities such as women’s restrooms have also been developed in police stations.

The Chief Minister noted that the corporation is consistently profitable, having earned ₹11.14 crores in profit for the fiscal year 2025-26 so far. To ensure the quality of construction, third-party inspections, material testing, and real-time monitoring through a mobile app have been implemented.

He instructed that regular monitoring should be conducted to ensure the timeliness and quality of construction projects. Technical experts should be consulted as needed, and additional manpower should be allocated. The Chief Minister also mandated that all projects undergo periodic third-party audits by reputable institutions.

Furthermore, he directed that all projects should be regularly reviewed and that modern, safe, and functional infrastructure should be developed according to the needs of the police force. He insisted that vacant positions should be filled based on merit.
