Ajmer, May 28: Members of the Muslim community gathered at the Dargah of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti in Ajmer on Wednesday to pray for the health of Saint Premanand Maharaj. They offered prayers for his swift recovery during a special ceremony at the shrine. Present at the event were Syed Hasan Chishti, a caretaker of the Dargah, and Rafiq Qadri, secretary of the Interfaith Unity Committee.
Syed Hasan Chishti stated that praying for the well-being of a saint or a good person is a part of humanity. He emphasized that Premanand Maharaj spreads messages of love, brotherhood, and unity across the nation, and prayers were offered in that spirit. He noted that the Ajmer Dargah has always served as a center for prayer and peace for people of all religions, where individuals come without discrimination to seek blessings.
Meanwhile, Rafiq Qadri mentioned that Premanand Maharaj’s health has been declining recently, necessitating regular dialysis. This prompted the community to come together to pray for his recovery at the Dargah. A ceremonial cloth was also presented, and everyone joined in wishing for his speedy return to health.
He added that this event is not limited to a single religion but showcases India’s tradition of people from different faiths praying for one another and promoting unity. He believes that true saints are those who spread love and brotherhood in society, and Premanand Maharaj embodies such a personality, holding a special place in the hearts of many.
He remarked, “There is no saint like Premanand Maharaj in all of Asia. He has always conveyed messages of love and brotherhood, which is why we all gathered today to wish for his good health.”
