Trump Claims Renewed Respect from China Amid Strengthened US Position

Washington, May 28: President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that his administration has successfully rebalanced relations with China. He emphasized that through military expansion, trade pressure, and increased energy production, the United States has strengthened its position in the Indo-Pacific region.

During a Cabinet meeting at the White House, Trump described his recent meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping as “extremely wonderful.” He asserted that China now views the United States from a different perspective compared to previous administrations.

“Our relationship is very good. We are conducting significant business with China, but the situation is not what it used to be, when they took advantage of us for years,” Trump remarked.

He claimed that tariffs and economic policies implemented by his administration have compelled China to adopt a more balanced trade relationship with the United States.

“Trade with China is now quite profitable, and they respect our country again,” he added.

Trump linked his economic strategy to the military and geopolitical strategy of the United States in the Indo-Pacific and other regions. He stated that increasing defense spending and modernizing the military are crucial to restoring America’s global influence.

U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth noted that the government is heavily investing in new military systems, including drones, missile defense systems, and advanced fighter jets.

“We will lead the world in drone technology,” Hegseth asserted, praising Trump’s proposed $1.5 trillion defense budget plan.

He reported that for the second consecutive year, recruitment rates in the military have reached historic levels, and private defense companies are investing billions in new production facilities due to government policies.

The U.S. Treasury Secretary remarked that despite tensions with Iran and global energy markets, the American economy remains “strong, secure, and resilient.”

He noted that under Trump’s second term, business investments have surged, leading to significant increases in factory construction, manufacturing jobs, and capital expenditures.

Trump also highlighted his “energy dominance strategy,” stating that increased oil and gas production has bolstered America’s position in global politics. He claimed that the U.S. is now producing more oil than both Russia and Saudi Arabia combined.
