Pune, May 28: The renowned Sarang helicopter display team of the Indian Air Force is set to deliver an impressive aerial performance during the historic 150th course passing out parade of the National Defence Academy. This event will not only showcase military traditions and the capabilities of the Indian Air Force but will also mark a significant occasion for the graduation of the third batch of female cadets.

Taking place in Pune, this special program will feature the Sarang team performing precise flight skills and thrilling aerial maneuvers using the indigenous ALH Dhruv helicopters. The display symbolizes India’s modern aviation capabilities, military discipline, and self-reliant defense technology.

The Sarang team is known for its vibrant helicopters and exceptional aerial formations. This time, the team will mesmerize the audience with complex and exciting structures in the sky. There is a palpable excitement across the country regarding this event.

Speaking to reporters, one of the helicopter pilots mentioned that the performance appears exhilarating from below, but it is backed by years of rigorous training and discipline. He emphasized that safety is the top priority during aerial displays, with strict adherence to all protocols.

Another helicopter pilot explained that the name ‘Sarang’ is derived from Indian culture. In Sanskrit, ‘Sarang’ means peacock, symbolizing beauty, glory, and strength. He noted that the Sarang team was established in 2003, aiming to showcase the professional capabilities of the Indian Air Force and the efficiency of indigenous helicopters.

He also highlighted that the ALH Dhruv helicopters used by the Sarang team are entirely developed using indigenous technology, showcasing India’s defense manufacturing capabilities to the world.
