Ahmedabad, April 10: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has released its manifesto for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections. BJP leader Rohan Gupta stated that West Bengal will move towards development under a BJP government.
In a conversation in Ahmedabad, Gupta commented on the manifesto released by Amit Shah, describing it as a balanced document aimed at the development of West Bengal. Key promises include the implementation of the 7th Pay Commission, action against illegal immigrants, granting rights to Bengalis, and the rollout of the Ayushman scheme. A significant commitment was made to provide financial assistance of ₹3,000 per month to support women economically.
Gupta emphasized that the BJP always delivers on its promises. He stated, “These are not fabricated claims but concrete plans that will be implemented on time.”
He further remarked that West Bengal, once the backbone and engine of development in the country, has been exploited by various governments over the past 50 years. The BJP’s sole aim is to restore the dignity of Bengal and bring it back on the path of development, enabling it to contribute significantly to the nation’s progress. He asserted that this manifesto is a step in that direction and that once the BJP forms the government, these commitments will be executed in a timely manner. “This is not just a declaration; it is a solid commitment based on the budget,” he added.
Commenting on the claims made by Pakistan regarding the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran, Gupta criticized the current state of Pakistan, stating that they are begging for food while embroiled in conflict with Afghanistan. He pointed out that despite their dire situation, they continue to make grand claims.
Gupta also addressed the opposition parties in India, stating that they appear to side with Pakistan. He questioned the Congress party’s trust in Pakistan over their own citizens, suggesting that they should clarify their stance. “No one in the world trusts Pakistan, yet the Congress party does,” he remarked.
Responding to Congress leader Kanhaiya Kumar’s statements, Gupta noted that it has become a habit for Congress leaders to insult Gujarat to further their political agenda. He criticized Congress for inciting conflict between states instead of addressing their own issues, asserting that they are desperate for votes as they face imminent defeat. “I don’t believe that votes gained through hatred will save them,” he concluded.
