Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Assures Safety During Festivals in Gonda

Gonda, June 6: Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reassured residents that the chaos of the past will not return. He recalled the attempts to incite riots during Durga Puja in 2015-16, where the immersion of the idol was obstructed and disturbances disrupted festivities. Before 2017, those in power bowed to rioters and professional goons, leading to months of curfews. Adityanath stated that any disruption during celebrations would result in dire consequences for the perpetrators.

On Saturday, he inaugurated and laid the foundation for 262 projects worth516 crores in the Katra assembly constituency and Karnailganj. During the event, he also performed the rice ceremony for children and visited various stalls. In his address, the Chief Minister emphasized that investment cannot thrive in an atmosphere of insecurity. Before 2017, the state faced an identity crisis, with youth distressed, farmers troubled, and women feeling unsafe. Development was stagnant, and respect was hard to come by. Now, every district, tehsil, development block, urban body, and village is benefiting from government schemes without hindrance.

The Chief Minister praised the youth of Gonda for their energy, the farmers for their hard work, and the women for their talent. Artisans and craftsmen have successfully showcased their skills to the world. Gonda played a significant role in the freedom struggle, but post-independence, it suffered from appeasement, anarchy, nepotism, and casteism, hindering its development. Adityanath noted that there was a time when the youth faced an identity crisis similar to that of other districts. There were no job opportunities, and when they ventured out, they were met with suspicion. However, the development efforts over the past 12 years under PM Modi and the double-engine government have changed perceptions.

He stated that people now approach Gonda’s youth with friendliness, knowing that to receive the blessings of Lord Ram, they must befriend the people of Gonda. Youth are now securing government jobs, with 60,244 positions filled in the UP police, including for candidates from Gonda, Shravasti, Bahraich, and Balrampur. Adityanath expressed joy in seeing Gonda’s youth receiving jobs without discrimination. He highlighted that investment is not limited to Noida, Ghaziabad, and Meerut; Gonda is also attracting investment, creating local job opportunities.

During the event, 20 beneficiaries received assistance from various schemes. The government is committed to ensuring that all eligible individuals, regardless of caste or creed, benefit from development initiatives. Under PM Modi’s vision of “Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,” the government is reaching every household with development programs.

The Chief Minister credited the double-engine government’s strength for the grand construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Residents of Gonda have witnessed the Ram Temple movement, with many over 40 years old having participated and endured the oppression of previous governments. Adityanath noted that previously, speaking the name of Ram was prohibited, and devotees faced violence. Now, only Ram devotees can visit Ayodhya. He remarked that the current generation is blessed to witness the temple’s construction, bringing tears of joy to the eyes of the elders.

He assured that the benefits of welfare schemes are reaching deserving individuals without discrimination. Gonda is realizing dreams of a medical college, engineering college, agricultural college, and composite school. The government has approved every proposal from MPs and MLAs. By voting for the right candidates, citizens are enabling development, welfare initiatives, and respect for heritage.

Adityanath urged voters to choose wisely, as good choices lead to positive outcomes. He noted that before 2017, development was limited to a few villages. However, with the double-engine government, medical colleges are now being established in Gonda, Balrampur, Ayodhya, Basti, Siddharthnagar, Ambedkarnagar, and Sultanpur. Every district is witnessing development. The Chief Minister announced a commitment to regularly review projects and ensure that citizens feel the impact of their votes.

From June 5 (World Environment Day) to June 21 (International Yoga Day), continuous programs will be held to celebrate PM Modi’s successful 12-year tenure. Health, agriculture, and loan fairs will be organized at the development block level, with representatives working together to promote these initiatives. Adityanath concluded by stating that Gonda will gain a new identity as a modern district in Uttar Pradesh. Once labeled as one of the dirtiest cities, Gonda is now recognized among the cleanest. He cautioned that choosing the wrong government leads to poor outcomes, but Gonda is now on a path of development and renewed identity.
