U.S. Military Intercepts Iranian Missile and Drone Attacks

Washington, June 6: The U.S. military has announced the successful interception and destruction of several ballistic missiles and drones launched by Iran. These attacks targeted the Strait of Hormuz and neighboring countries in the Gulf region.

U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a statement regarding the incidents. On June 5, Iran sent four one-way attack drones towards the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. forces successfully shot down all of these drones, which posed an immediate threat to maritime traffic in the area.

Just hours after the drone attacks, Iran launched seven ballistic missiles towards Kuwait and Bahrain. Initial assessments indicate that six of these missiles were intercepted mid-flight, while the seventh failed to reach its intended target.

Currently, there are no reports of casualties among U.S. personnel or staff. Additionally, the U.S. has dismissed Iran’s claim that the headquarters of the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet in Bahrain was damaged, labeling it entirely false.

The U.S. military further stated that retaliatory actions were taken to prevent potential maritime threats and ensure security against future attacks. This included targeting Iranian coastal surveillance radar sites located on the Goruk and Qeshm islands. The U.S. military emphasized that these actions were conducted purely in self-defense and aimed at maintaining regional maritime security.

CENTCOM reiterated that its forces remain vigilant and are prepared to respond to any aggressive actions in the region. The command assured that the U.S. military will continue to take necessary steps to ensure the safety of its personnel, allied nations, and international maritime routes.
